These Indicators Are Made From A Variety Of Materials Such As Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Or Borosilicate Glass Or Glass. Position Of The Flapper Shows The Rate Of Flow. The Flapper Is Attached To Hinge Inside The Flow Indicator. Where A Downstream Valve May Remain Closed And There Is Almost No Flow In The Pipeline, The Flapper Indicates That Flow Is Not Present. When The Downstream Valve Is Open And Flow Starts, The Flapper Rotates. So, It Can Indicate Whether There Is Flow Or Not.
